Time to plan ahead for spring
November is the perfect month for bulb planting. Think beyond daffodils and get colour from January until May!
Watering Advice for new planting
With the driest spring for the past 100 years, it is essential for all new planting schemes to be kept thoroughly watered until substantial rainfall occurs. Even "drought resistant" plants need to get their roots established before they will fend for themselves. Trees and more mature shrubs which will have been watered every day of their lives at a nursery, will die if left unwatered. It is the plant ROOTS with need water, so make sure that the watering is done for long enough to get right down to the roots, and that you are not simply watering the top inch of soil, otherwise the roots will stay shallow, and be even more at risk in future.
Open day announced for July 2011

If you would like to be sitting relaxing in your newly designed garden this summer, now is the time to act. We are already booked into late spring, so please contact us very soon if you would like us to assist with the design and landscaping of your garden this year.
We also already have some bookings for the autumn, so if autumn would be your preferred time, act now before you miss out for this year.
New Web Site Launched
Acorn Garden Services are pleased to announce the launch of their brand new website. Our newly updated modern site allows our prospective clients a great way to view projects that we have proudly designed and implemented over the past 10 years.
Our thanks to our many customers who have maintained their gardens so beautifully enabling us to use photographs taken on a revisit a couple of years after planting.
Wokingham Front Garden Award
Acorn Garden Services were delighted to learn that one of their customers whose garden we landscaped in 2001, has this year won the award for "Wokingham Best Front Garden". See the garden featured in our Project section entitiled Award Winning Front Garden.
The garden has been lovingly maintained by Mr and Mrs Harfleet who have added their own personal touches over the years. Hundreds of people have also enjoyed their garden over the years as they have opened their garden for charity raising funds for the National Garden Scheme and also the Thames Valley Air Ambulance. They open their garden again this year on 17th July as part of a group to include our own garden. See Open Day details for more information.
